The clutch perch of the Yamaha XJ 600 Diversion is the handlebar-mounted bracket carrying the clutch lever and receiving the cable with its adjuster; it often includes the safety switch that allows starting with the clutch pulled in. Cracked in a fall or with an ovalised pivot bore, it gives a lever with play. This original perch comes from a 1999 XJ 600 Diversion (600 cc, 49,000 km), listed in good condition and for the XJ 600 Diversion from 1998 to 2003. Check for cracks and the condition of the adjuster and switch, grease the lever pivot and cable nipple, and set the free play according to the manual.
